General Information
dsDNA antibodies are a disease specific serological marker for the diagnosis and disease management of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). More than 90% of sera from patients with active SLE contain dsDNA antibodies. Smaller amounts may be present in patients with other rheumatic disorders, chronic active hepatitis, infectious mononucleosis, and biliary cirrhosis. Assay results should be used in conjunction with clinical findings and other serological tests.
