Identify Neisseria gonorrhoeae and other significant bacterial pathogens from genital specimen

Specimen Requirements

Fluid or tissue in sterile container, Bacterial Culture Transport Swab w/gel, Amies Transport swab, Eswab, or other transport swab system.

Alternate Specimen Type

Vagina, Penile Discharge, Urethral Discharge, Endocervical, Endometrial, Prostatic Fluid, Placenta

Additional Processing Details

If ordering in combination with other Incyte tests, a separate swab must be collected for culture.

Stability

Ambient: Preferred <24 hours, will accept 48 hours (DO NOT REFRIGERATE)

Unacceptable Specimen Conditions

Unacceptable specimen transport device (including Incyte Swab, specimen in formalin, expired), refrigerated or frozen specimen, improper labeling, prolonged delay in transport
