Additional Information |
Clinical Significance: The CLL/SLL FISH panel is used for the detection of chromosome aberrations observed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma, which are useful prognosis and prediction of time to treatment in CLL patients when used in combination with other clinical and diagnostic findings. IGH/CCND1 is used to rule out mantle cell leukemia/lymphoma. If Flow Cytometry studies are also being ordered, it is preferable to submit an EDTA (purple top) tube specifically for Flow Cytometry. If only one tube can be submitted, please submit one sodium heparin (green top) tube for both FISH and Flow Cytometry studies. |
