Factor 10 Assay, UOW833

Test ID

General Information

Often ordered inappropriately. Clinicians may want an anti-Xa assay such as HIXA, LMWXA, RIVAR1, APIXN1. There is also a separate chromogenic factor X assay intended for monitoring warfarin effect in patients being bridged from bivalirudin. Clinical assay interference and limitations: Patients on bivalirudin (Angiomax), dabigatran (Pradaxa), argatroban (Novastan), rivaroxaban (Xarelto), apixaban (Eliquis), and edoxaban (Savaysa) may show prolonged clotting times. This may cause an under- estimation of the factor concentrations.

Clients should fill and submit Coagulation Patient Clinical History Form.
